On Saturday, March 9th, Marina Greenwich will make history by hosting its first regatta, in which all participants will be women. This event marks an important step forward for the marina, not only in sporting terms but also in its commitment to gender equality and the inclusion of women in sailing regattas in Spain.

The Greenwich Women’s Cup, which will take place at this private marina located between Calpe and Altea, will feature the top eight women's crews in Spain competing in a fleet format with Tom28 monohulls. This inaugural regatta represents a significant milestone for Marina Greenwich, which has worked hard to ensure a high-quality event and offer an unforgettable experience to sailors from across Spain.

From the outset, the management of Marina Greenwich was clear that this first foray into competitive sailing should be something special. That is why they chose a regatta that transcends the purely sporting realm and symbolizes a firm commitment to gender equality. Additionally, the race committee will be composed mostly of women, highlighting the event's inclusive and progressive approach.

With the spectacular backdrop of nature and in a unique setting, these eight women's crews promise to deliver an exciting spectacle on the sea with the Tom28s. This regatta is not only a sporting event but also a symbol of progress and a tribute to the talent and dedication of women in the world of sailing.
